    Three things to keep.

    1. Keep the article with the noun.Practise der Termin, not just Termin.
    2. Try before you reveal.Bring the word or meaning back without looking.
    3. Come back to it.Check your answer and review again over time.

Getting it right once isn’t the finish.

≈80%Repeated recall after a correct answer
36%Continued study, but known pairs dropped from testing

    See it. Recall it.
    Return to it.

Start with one word. See what it means. Put the hints away and try to bring it back.

In Wortweg: solve a puzzle → see the meaning and example → try recall → review later.

    Why practise this way?

Read the spelling and example. Listen to German pronunciation. Trace letters with touch or a mouse. The game also uses vibration feedback on supported devices. These are interaction options, not a claim about different “learning styles”.

Being able to recall a word now does not show that you will remember it next week. Research on vocabulary supports repeated retrieval; broader learning research also supports spacing practice over time. Wortweg’s puzzle introduces the word, while meaning and review provide opportunities to practise it.

The diagram shows learner actions, not a literal transfer from short-term to long-term storage. Durable vocabulary takes repeated practice and use. Wortweg’s effect on long-term recall and real conversations has not yet been measured.

For work, vocabulary practice can support your wider learning. Wortweg is not a language qualification or a job guarantee.
